i'm yukiseal (call me seal or yuki, either works).

i'm an art student majoring in animation. i particularly enjoy designing and drawing characters and making silly animations !

about the site

soulwebbing is my little labour of love project ! i learnt to code just to make this site.
i didn't really expect to enjoy coding this much, but it sparked a new love for it ! i'm a huge fan of puzzles and problem-solving, so i don't think i should really be surprised lol

the site is named after violetta (also known as the soul weaver), a character from the Netease game Identity V.
while i don't play the game as much as i'd like to, violetta is very special to my heart ! she was the first hunter ever i truly wanted to learn and enjoyed playing, and ever since we got more of her lore in the Hullabaloo story event i've only loved her more !
her playstyle is relatively simple in concept, but she has a lot of potential ! i find her super satisfying to play, and she has quite a few wonderful skins to complement her design ! i also love spiders. so cute.
i also love her personality !! her mannerisms, way of speaking and interpreting conversations resonates a LOT with me as someone with autism, especially during particular moments during the Hulaballoo story cinematics where she stims a lot like myself when happy ! seeing a character i already loved behave like me was SO special, and the fact the IDV community responded so positively to her was wonderful !
she's definitely not the most popular character out there, but she'll always be best girl in my heart ♡

i think i started wanting to create my own site around 2022 or 2023, but only really got around to coding somethinng fully functional at the tail-end of 2024.
my only real creative hobby had been art for a few years, and ever since i started pursuing it as a career it became less and less inticing to draw for myself, in a certain way. i guess now that it's associated with school and homework it feels less relaxing than it used to. since buying myself a new guitar or keyboard is a little bit out of budget at the moment, coding has been a great way to fill my time and create without expending all my drawing energy! i think it's also nice since it works my brain in a different way than drawing does - more logical and close-ended than asking myself "why does this drawing look off for some reason". sometimes it can be really frustrating, but it's very much worth it in the end.

the best part of making a site so far, though, has been exploring other sites and meeting new people ! i'm not particularly social IRL and always struggled to find a space where i felt comfortable sharing my interests - this has been the experience i was looking for, i think. everyone is able to show what they like how they like, and share what they're passionate about in their own corner of the internet. it's a lovely personalized look into the life of someone else through their own eyes ! nekoweb also has a discord, and the people there are ... special to say the least /j
